Share Your Chatbot via Direct Link or QR Code

Discover how to use your chatbot in “Full Screen” mode without needing to install it on a website.

Introduction

Don’t have a website? Or do you simply want to share your assistant with a colleague, client, or a class of students without forcing them to navigate your site?

DoxyChat automatically generates a Hosted Page for each of your chatbots. It is a dedicated, clean, and responsive web page (mobile-friendly) that contains only the conversation interface.

Every chatbot possesses its own permanent web address (URL).

  1. Go to the Integration tab of your dashboard.
  2. Locate the Hosted Page section.
  3. You will find a link there similar to: https://doxychat.com/chat/abc-123...
  4. Click the Copy button or Open to see the result.

You can send this link via email, SMS, WhatsApp, or post it on your social media. Anyone clicking on it will be able to chat instantly with your AI.

2. The QR Code (For the Physical World)

To bridge the gap between the real world and your artificial intelligence, DoxyChat generates a unique QR Code associated with your bot.

  • Where to find it? Right next to the direct link in the Integration tab.
  • How to use it? Download the image and print it on your physical materials:
    • Flyers and Brochures: “Scan to ask questions about this product.”
    • Business Cards: “Chat with my virtual assistant to book an appointment.”
    • Posters on premises: For an internal FAQ or a welcome guide.
    • Restaurant Menus: For a virtual sommelier.

3. Controlling Access: Public or Private

Depending on the sensitivity of your data, you can decide who has the right to access this hosted page. This setting is managed in the Security (or Configuration) tab.

Public Mode (Open / Shared)

This is the default mode.

  • How it works: Anyone with the link or the QR Code can access the chatbot and start a conversation.
  • Usage: Ideal for customer support, marketing, or general public information.

Private Mode (Password Protected)

If your chatbot contains internal information (HR procedures, confidential technical documentation), you must restrict access to it.

  1. In the security settings, enable Private Mode.
  2. Set a strong Password.
  3. Save.

From now on, when a user clicks the link or scans the QR Code, they will arrive at a lock screen asking for the password before being able to access the chat interface.

Note: Private mode protects access to the hosted page. If you have also installed the widget on a website, make sure to configure the Domain Whitelist to prevent unauthorized access via the widget.
